Driver & Operator Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct sets out the minimum standards expected of all drivers and operators working with Long Distance Taxis (LDT). It is a summary of the full Terms & Conditions and must be followed at all times.

1. Licensing and Compliance
- All drivers must hold a valid taxi or private hire licence from their local authority.
- All vehicles must be licensed, insured, and roadworthy (MOT, tax, Hire & Reward insurance).
- All operators must hold a valid operator licence from their local authority.
- You must provide up-to-date copies of your documents to LDT.
2. Professional Conduct
- Treat all passengers with respect, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Keep your vehicle clean, tidy, and smoke-free at all times.
- Dress appropriately — drivers must be neat and professional.
- No harassment, discrimination, or aggressive behaviour will be tolerated.
3. Payments
- Do not request or accept cash payments from passengers unless instructed by LDT.
- All fares must go through the LDT booking system.
- Drivers and operators will be paid monthly by LDT, minus commission.
4. Branding and Representation
- Do not display signs, stickers, or branding from other taxi companies while completing LDT bookings.
- Do not give passengers your personal business cards, leaflets, or private contact details.
- Always represent LDT professionally and avoid causing confusion about which company the passenger has booked with.
5. Safety and Responsibility
- Never drive under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or fatigue.
- Always follow the Highway Code and drive safely.
- Ensure your vehicle is properly maintained and insured.
- Provide a safe and respectful environment for passengers.
6. Complaints and Reporting
- Report any complaints, accidents, disputes, or lateness to LDT management within 72 hours.
- Cooperate with any LDT investigations into incidents or complaints.
7. Cancellations
- Do not cancel bookings after accepting them, except in genuine emergencies.
- If you cannot fulfil a booking, inform LDT immediately so a replacement can be arranged.
- Repeated late cancellations may result in suspension.
8. Working with Other Companies
- You may work with other taxi firms, but when completing LDT bookings you must follow all LDT rules.
- Do not divert LDT passengers to other companies.
9. Termination
Failure to follow this Code of Conduct or the full Terms & Conditions may result in:
- Suspension of your account
- Deduction of deposits or earnings
- Termination of your agreement with LDT
